Prophecy is also Pattern, Not Merely Prediction

This article discusses how the Jewish rabbis of Jesus' day saw prophecy through the patterns in scripture, not just through prediction. Several examples are given, and this helped me, I had always wondered how some of the prophecies regarding Jesus could be prophetic when the verses cited didn't fit the context of the passage.
